What You Can Do
Air pollution in Gippsland is causing harm. Most of the pollution comes from coal-fired power stations which are allowed to emit far more than their equivalents overseas. Click here to find out more
Coal-fired power stations should be required to limit their air pollution in keeping with international best practice to protect health
Click here to read and sign a letter to the Victorian EPA asking them to require coal-fired power stations to limit their air pollution
If you'd like to discuss other ways we might tackle this issue together or if you'd like to meet other health care workers who share your concerns please email us at [email protected]
Climate change may threaten the health of Gippslanders in the future by increasing the risk of potentially deadly bushfires, heatwaves and other extreme weather events. Health care itself accounts for 7% of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions
We need to minimise the carbon footprint of health care and other sectors
Email us at [email protected] to express your interest in an event on sustainable healthcare in Gippsland that we're planning for late 2020 / 2021 (pending interest)
